Snow at the London Temple

The London Temple is beautiful all year round with 37 acres of woodlands and park like grounds.  It is especially striking with pristine white snow blanketing the grounds giving a feeling of peace and tranquility.

To begin with let us show you how it looked just a couple of days ago.





The Temple grounds were green and the ducks were enjoying our little feed of stale cookies and bread.











On the 18th of January we woke up to snow and it snowed all day. We probably got 3-4 inches and in England that is a big deal.









They don't have snow removal and sand trucks like we have in Utah. Everything comes to a halt. Flights were cancelled at the various airports including the big Heathrow Airport.

Fortunately there were two charted buses from different cities in England that had a Temple trip planned for today so they came and we were plenty busy. Plus others came a day or two early and stayed at the Accommodations center like we do so they were already here.

But Saturday many of the scheduled youth groups cancelled because of the icy roads.









Speaking of the Accommodations center it is the building to the right of the flat roofed Visitor's center, which is across the small parking strip from the Temple. Our room is in the corner on the lighter wood where it joins the darker wood.

Linda is standing by the temple with the large manor house in the back ground where the Temple Presidency and Single Senior Sisters live.

The last is a picture of Sister Collis, one of our Senior Sister Missionaries with the Manor house behind her. We love to listen to her speak because her English is so clear and beautiful. She like so many of our missionaries give up a year to 18 months to serve in the Temple full time. It is a wonderful service to the Lord. We feel blessed to spend these few months with these wonderful people.
