There is no snow but "white" it is. We had our first Baptism in Tralee, Kerry, Ireland. It was the Baptism of Geraldine. She asked Michael to perform the Baptism but we recommended one of the young elders who was thrilled.
She was first taught by Elders King and McCarthy who have since been transferred out of Ireland to take on leadership responsibilities. Elders Davidson and Waters followed up and were able to perform the ordinances.
Geraldine's young daughter and her sister and nephew all attended. We drove the Elders up to Limerick and the Relief Society President drove Geraldine and her family.
Following the Baptism was the District Christmas Choral which we all participated in.
We then got a wonderful bonus to get to finish our mission serving in the London England Temple. So this is truly going to be a "WHITE" Christmas.
President Monson said in General Conference April 2011: "The Holy Temple is a Beacon to the World. The all-important and crowning of membership in the Church are those blessings which we receive in the temples of God."
He goes on to say, "Temples are more than stone and mortar. They are filled with faith and fasting. They are built of trials and testimonies. They are sanctified by sacrifice and service." "The world can be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified."
